What is SEEDS?

The Society of Environmental Engineering, Development, management and Science, or SEEDS, is a student group that aims to bring together students, in the Ottawa area, studying in or interested in environmental related fields and topics. We aims to provide professional, academic, social, and outreach activities for the benefit of all members.

SEEDS was created in 2009 by a small group of students from Carleton University, the University of Ottawa and Algonquin College who saw a need to bring students together to share ideas and create a community of people who cared about the environmental issues. The concept for SEEDS was sparked at a meeting hosted by the Ottawa Valley Chapter of the Air and Waste Management Association (OVC – A&WMA). Since then, the OVC-A&WMA has worked with SEEDS to bring students and environmental professionals together. SEEDS acts as the student chapter of the OVC-A&WMA and is grateful for their continued support.
