AWMA Breakfast Seminar – Olympians inspiring action for the environment

The next edition of the Ottawa Valley Chapter of the AWMA (OVC-AWMA) is set for Thursday May 12, 2011 beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the Métropolitain Brasserie, 700 Sussex Drive, Ottawa (at the corner of Sussex and Rideau).

This edition of the seminar will feature a talk by the founder of the Clean-Air Champions Deirdre Laframboise who will be speaking how the Clean Air Champions is working with respected Olympic,Paralympic and National Team athletes to inspire action for the environment. CAC’s unique programs educate and inspire Canadians — particularly youth — to adopt practices and lifestyles that reduce air pollution and enhance their personal health. Deirdre will share insights and experiences about CAC’s activities — from student-led energy audits in schools, to on-line tracking of GHG emissions from daily trips between home and school.
